ABSTRACT

Objective: This research aims to explore the impact of creative partnerships among music educators in Guangzhou,
China, on motivation, instructional practices, and teaching confidence, aligning with Bandura’s Social Cognitive
Theory. Methods: Data from 327 educators across ten institutions were analyzed using Partial Least Squares
Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Validated questionnaires assessed variables such as creative partnerships,
motivation, instructional practices, and teaching confidence. Results: Creative partnerships positively influenced
motivation and instructional practices. Motivation significantly mediated the relationship between creative partnerships
and teaching confidence, while instructional practices also mediated this relationship. Fornell-Larcker Criterion
and F-statistics confirmed discriminant validity and significance of relationships, respectively. Conclusion: This
study contributes to understanding the dynamics within music education, emphasizing the importance of creative
partnerships in enhancing educators’ motivation, instructional practices, and teaching confidence. The findings
underscore the need for collaborative initiatives and support mechanisms to cultivate an enriched educational
environment, with implications for both theory and practice in music and arts education.
